| Folk Craft “Oniyocho” | |

This is a unique kite that depicts the story of Watanabe-no-tsuna, an ancestor of the Matsuura family, and his battle against ogres (oni) at Rashomon. The bow on the ogre’s head makes a humming sound when it is hit by the wind, evoking the image of an ogre jumping up bellowing; hence, the name, “Oniyocho”. |
